Warsaw

This weekend a group of us took a trip to the capital city - Warsaw... definitely not one of my favorite places, but the history contained within the city definitely made it worth while!

Karpacz!!

This weekend a group of us went on a trip to Karpacz which is a town in the mountains right on the border of the Czech Republic! It was really beautiful and snowy. Some of the group decided to scale mount Sněžka-Śnieżka... i wasn't one of them as i only had wellies on! Definitely going to buy appropriate shoes and give it a go in Spring! x

My first week in the land of vodka and sausages!

I arrived in Poland last Sunday (6th of Feb) and since I arrived it's been non stop fun (and quite chilly!) I'm living in student accommodation called Olowek which is full to the brim of Erasmus and international students, so everyone one is up for a party...constantly! At the minute I can handle it because uni doesn't start for another week and a half, however our intensive Polish course starts at 9am everyday so learning the hardest Europen language is pretty tricky after a night on the Polish vodka!

The University has a support group for the Erasmus students called 2Wroclaw.. let's just say they arrange parties... LOTS of parties! Although if you need anything other than a good night out they are more than happy to help with that, the support available for Erasmus students here really is brilliant!

The language barrier isn't really an issue, however the other international students who thought they could speak English now find themselves doubting their ability as they find it nearly impossible to understand my Scottish accent! A Slovakian girl commented that when I am talking it might as well be in Chinese... so i'll have to work on that!

Do Widzenia!!
